There is a long list of slot machines from Pragmatic Play with this specific name, but 5 Lions Megaways somehow managed to distinguish itself from the rest.
Because of the use of the Megaways engine, it will be a volatile option that is better suited for experienced players. It will also most likely have prizes that are above average in value.
I noticed that the slot uses the same China-themed, with the Lion serving as the main character.
This is my review of 5 Lions Megaways:
6 reels are what you can expect to work with on this slot, and due to the changing number of symbols displayed on each reel, it likely that you will end up with up to 200,704.
As a Megaways slot, I expected a long list of features and true to it, the game offers a lot that includes Free spins bonus, Multiplier Wilds, Cascading Reels, Megaways, Stacked Symbols, Random Multiplier, and Scatter Pays.
When you use lines rather than ways to win, the game assumes that there are 20 active lines. This makes the whole betting process easy, as you are using lines and not the usual ways to win.
If you use this method, you can pay as little as $0.20 per spin and as much as $100 per spin, depending on the number of coins and the denomination you choose.
As a Megaways title, I must admit that the payouts are not anywhere near impressive, and only 5,000x the stake can be won.
However, there is a positive aspect to this as well as the RTP is at 96.50%, which serves its level of volatility quite well.
The first and sixth reels can hold up to seven symbols, and the middle four reels can hold up to eight. This is how you end up with up to 200,704 Megaways.
With a couple of winning combos in place, I was able to trigger the winning Tumble mechanic. This mechanism works pretty much the same with other Megaways slot machines.
It works by removing the winning icons and replaces them with new ones. The process goes on until there are no more wins.
The Lion Wild symbol is one of the most rewarding symbols here, and although you only get it on reels 2-5, it serves as a substitute and also applies a random multiplier.
When playing the standard game, the multiplier has a total of eight different numbers to pick from, ranging from 2x to 40x in value.
The scatter, which depicts the logo with the Yin Yang symbol triggers the free spins. Landing 3 to 6 scatters rewarded me with a payout ranging from 3x to 100x the bet.
The scatters also activate the free spins, and you can choose the variant of the free spins from the 7 that are available.
A mystery feature (randomizes the number of free spins and the multiplier range, so you could end up with 25 free spins with wild multipliers of between 15x to 40x).
It’s an oriental themed slot with a lot of inspiration coming from Chinese culture. The Dragon, the Phoenix Bird, the Frog, the Gold Fish, and the Turtle are some of the icons used. Royals are also present to represent low-value icons.
5 Lions Megaways is a decent choice, and especially if you are looking for a Megaways title.
The RTP is great but as a Megaways title, the pay is too low as I have seen such titles offering as much as 10,000xs the stake. The slot is suitable for all levels of players.
