Partially inspired by Ancient Egypt, Cygnus 2 comes with an interesting storyline, that also relies on the stars and constellations as part of its backdrop.
The earlier release in this series was quite successful, and 3 years down the line, we get Cygnus 2.
Below is the review of this new slot by ELK Studios:
Game Set-Up
At first, Cygnus 2 slot offers 6 reels, with 4,096 ways to win (this may expand to 262,144 active ways).
Some of its features include Avalanches (which comes with expanding reels), free spins, and Rising Multipliers among others.
Betting and Prizes
ELK Studios is always very generous with their slots, and this is the same case with Cygnus 2. A minimum real money bet on the slot will cost just $0.20, but this can go for up to $100, which is ELK Studios’ standard betting range.
Top payouts can hit 50,000x the stake, from one spin, but you should also be ready to battle very high volatility.
The 95% RTP may not help things out, and I was expecting at least the 96% range that we are used to getting from modern slots.
Cygnus 2 Game Features
Once you form combinations within the game area, you will get to trigger the Avalanches. These deliver new symbols that replace the winning ones.
With each Avalanche, the slot adds an extra row of symbols, which also sees an increase in the number of ways to win. Avalanches go on and on until there are no new combinations. The highest that the game area can expand to is 6x8 reels, with 262,144 ways to win.
Cygnus 2 can get one multiplier wild to land, however, this will only be useful if you get it to land on the 1st reel. From this point going forward, it will boost your wins by between 3x to 10x.
However, in a scenario where the Avalanches pushes it to the bottom (of one of the last 5 reels), it will be taken away, and afterwards added back to the game area (this will be done on a reel closer to the 1st one). Every time you get the multiplier to the 1st reel, it transformed into a wild.
Bonus symbols landing on the 1st reel will reward you with 7 free spins, and it is also possible to retrigger the feature in the same way. If the Rising Multiplier increases, then the multipliers will not reset.
Theme & Design
ELK Studios went for the stars as the inspiration for Cygnus 2. In the background, we get an image of an inside observatory, with a telescope appearing on the right.
Gemstones in different shapes and colours form part of the symbols. Better paying ones include goats, lions, scorpions, the Sun, and logos.
Conclusion
Cygnus 2 appears like a very good and generous sequel from top developer, ELK Studios. I’m impressed by the top payouts, excellent features, and high-quality graphics inside.
The only combination that does not impress me is the high volatility with below-average RTP.
