Since Red Tiger attained a Megaways license from its original owner Big Time Gaming, the game developer appears more satisfying re-creating older games, than pushing for new ideas.
Dynamite Riches Megaways, is one of their latest releases, but the fact is, this is a remake of 2019's Dynamite Riches, a popular slot with a mining theme.
Red Tiger has added a few new ideas, but a lot of other things like the location, and the graphics remain the same.
When the original slot came out in 2019, I played it for real money, and so I was curious to see what the Megaways version has to offer and here is my review:
Since it’s a Megways, the action takes place on 6-reels, with each capable of holding between 2 and 7 symbols. This means that you can get up to 117,649 ways to win.
Feature-wise, I was happy to work with a long list of features like Free spins bonus, Cascading Reels, Extra Wilds, Stacked Symbols, Symbol Removal, Wild Reels, Win Multiplier
Placing real money wagers is not a complicated process, and all that I needed to do was select some amount from a betting range of $0.10 to $20 per spin.
As a Megaways title, I was expecting that the slot would have higher potential, but the best that you can get from the top payouts is 8185xs the stake.
As usual with Red Tiger, the RTP is not very impressive, and at 95.7%, I was not very happy with it especially since Dynamite Riches Megaways is a medium volatility slot.
I needed the Dynamite Wild symbols to activate 4 of the bonus features. Each time I hit a wild symbol; it was collected in the Feature Unlock Progress Bar that you can see above the reels. These 4 features are unlocked in a particular order. In total, you get 60 dynamites, but once the feature is unlocked, this dynamite will stop appearing.
Here is a brief look at how it works:
If you collect 15 wilds, they will unlock the TNT feature. Upon triggering, the low paying icons will be removed for the present spin. Again, if free spins activate during this spin, low pays go back to the reels for the bonus spin.
For 30 collected wilds, you unlock Golden Wilds, which when triggered, as many as 10 golden wild icons will land on the slot’s four middle reels.
45 collected dynamite wilds activate a Multiplier and once triggered, there is a compass that will appear and spins revealing some value (this can be x2, x3, x5, or x10).
Once all the 60 dynamite wilds have been gathered, you get to unlock the Mega Wild feature. The 4 Mega Wild symbols will then land on the four middle reels. The Mega Wilds will take over the whole reel and if there are some wins, a multiplier of x2-x7 will be applied to these wins.
Gold Spins scatters are another of the available features, and they will land on the 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th reels. This rewards you with 8, 10, 12, or 14 free spins/rounds respectively. Additional wins via the Gold Spins can get a multiplier boost of up to 20x.
An additional 3 scatters will retrigger 4 or more free spins, and once the feature comes to an end, the multiplier will reset and start all over again.
The slot uses a great mix of symbols, and on the premium level, we have spades/picks, lanterns, bags of gold, safety helmets, and the prospector chap.
On the lower end are hearts, clubs, spades, diamonds, Sticks of dynamites (regular wild), gold bar wilds as well as diamond wilds
If you haven't played the original Dynamite Riches game, then Dynamite Riches Megaways might be a more impressive choice.
The Megaways version is a lot more exciting than its predecessor, and its 20 fixed betways offers a growing win multiplier during free spins.
However, as a Megaways title, Red Tiger would have done better with the RTP and top payouts.
