Red Tiger has teamed up with NetEnt to bring you a sequel from the popular game, Gonzo’s Quest.
With the help of Red Tiger’s Megaways license, the two developers have been able to build a megaways mechanic from one of the world’s most popular slots.
After witnessing the huge success with Gonzo’s Quest, I had to try the megaways sequel and here is my review:
Gonzo’s Quest Megaways comes with the standard 6 reels, and as many as 117,649 ways to win are available.
The game has very good features that include free spins, the Avalanche, multipliers (up to 5x), an Earthquake, as well as Unbreakable wilds.
Gonzo’s Quest Megaways isn’t quite impressive when it comes to payouts. To place a wager, you will need between $0.10 and $4 per spin.
However, there is still potential given that the slot has prizes that can go to as much as 20,000x the stake.
This can translate to wins of up to $80,000 per spin. The developer has offered a fair RTP of 96% for this slot that is medium-high in volatility.
The Megaways engine works by mixing up the available symbols on each of the 6 provided reels. This then gives you between 2 to 7 positions per each one.
Sometimes you can get very few (less than 100 ways to win) per round, while other times, as many as 117,649 will come your way.
As you form winning combinations on the Megaways system, you will most likely trigger the Avalanche. This is the feature that will remove any symbol that was involved.
Afterwards, you will get a new wave of symbols to replace those that were removed. With each new Avalanches, the multiplier goes up, however, it will stop that triggers as part of the same spin, the multiplier goes up (max 5 xs). However, once the round ends, the multiplier will reset.
Wild symbols are referred to as the Unbreakable Wilds since they can stick around during all the Avalanches.
The Earthquake feature is the one I find to be most interesting. It’s a random feature, meaning you cannot influence it in any way. It works by removing the low-value symbols and replacing them with some high-value ones.
Last but not least are the free spins and you can trigger this feature via the help of the scatters.
Gonzo’s Quest Megaways uses the same common ancient adventurer theme. This is the one that is on the original Gonzo’s Quest. However, for the Megaways version, the developer has tried to modernise things a little bit.
The symbols may be more decorated, but essentially, they are the same ones. We see several masks and idols landing on the reels.
Gonzo’s Quest Megaways seems to have taken in the steps of its predecessor, and given the success that was witnessed with the original release, the megaways version is also quickly gaining popularity.
This new release may be high in volatility, but it comes with an excellent RTP and great features that make it quite entertaining.
